HO 5 Power-Driven Woodworking Machiness
Bans the operation of most power-driven woodworking machines, including saws, stapling machines, nailing machines, and sanders
- Work involving operating or assisting to feed power-driven woodworking machines
- Off-bearing or tailing from circular saws
- Setting up, adjusting, repairing, oiling, or cleaning power-driven woodworking machines
- Use of a power-driven woodworking machine used or designed to cut wood regardless of what material is being cut.
- WHD’s long standing position is that HO 5 prohibits minors under 18 from operating chain saws.
- Includes portable machines, battery operated machines, and pneumatic machines.
- Perform work involving the moving of materials from one machine to another and arranging materials for another person to feed into the machine
- Perform work in preparation for shipping and the handling and shipping of lumber products
- Use staple machines in upholstery departments
- Use electric, pneumatic and battery-powered screwdrivers which only tighten screws
